About this Tool

This tool allows you to instantly search over 330 million registered domains by keyword.

Basic Terminology

The section below explains some of the common abbreviations and terms used throughout this tool.

  • SLD - Part of a domain that comes before the dot (extension). This is sometimes also called a keyword as well. For example, if a registered domain is "fastcars.com" then the SLD is "fastcars". We perform searches on SLDs (and allow for extension filters too).
  • TLD - Top Level Domain, this is the extension of a domain, for example: .com, .net, .org, .de. We support over 2000 domain extensions including gTLDs, ccTLDs and nTLDs. We do not support some Asian ccTLDs such as .cn, .vn, etc.
  • Developed - We crawl over 330 million domains per month and generate digests of what we find. Domains are classified based on usage. "Developed" indicates that the web site is most likely developed and in use (as opposed to having a "coming soon" placeholder or not resolving at all).
  • TLDs Taken - This is the total count of extensions registered for a particular keyword / SLD, for example, if the keyword is "fastcars" and the TLDs Taken is 6 then it means there are 6 registered domains (in various extensions / TLDs) that match that keyword.
  • TLDs Developed - This is the total count of extensions registered and developed for a particular keyword.
  • TLDs List - This column shows a list of registered extensiosn for a particular keyword / SLD. Clicking on an extension will open up a new browser window to the domain. The extensions are color coded to indicate if they are registered or both registered and developed.

Usage

The service has been designed with simplicity in mind. Searching is straight forward. To search for a specific keyword or SLD just type it into the search box and press the "Search" button.

DomainLeads searches the SLD portion of a domain. This means that if you search for "net games" it will search the part of a domain that comes before the dot.

Multiple Keyword Search

You can specify multiple search keywords. To search for domains that contain "fast" and "cars" just enter "fast cars" and it will show all domains matching those two keywords in any order.

Multiple keyword searches are always matched with an "AND" filter, meaning that all keywords you supply must exist in the domain but can be in any order.

Exclude Keywords

To remove certain keywords from the results you can click on "advanced options" and enter in one or more keywords (separated with a space) into the Exclude Keywords textbox. For example, to search for "fast cars" but exclude any result containing "faster" just type in "faster" into the Exclude Keywords textbox. These are "AND" matches meaning that it will exclude all keywords listed.

Bulk Search

In addition to searching by one or more keywords with various match types (ex: starts with, ends with, contains) you can perform bulk searches.

A bulk search allows you to perform searches on large SLD/domain lists. If you enter a domain name, we will parse out the SLD.

At this time we only support exact match searches on bulk domain lists. If you require "contains" and other match types please contact us.

Technical Details

Our domain list is refreshed every 3 days, so it is possible that we'll show a domain or extension in the report that has dropped. If we receive requests from customers to update the database more frequently, we can improve on the refresh times.

This is a new tool and we would like to know if there is anything you would like added in. Please contact us with suggestions or bugs.
